Batbabe: The Dark Nightie & The Insatiable Ironbabe (2008)
Seduction Cinema | Buy at Amazon | Review by Doug Waltz

When I was sent these by our erstwhile editor I decided to watch IRON BABE first. After spending twenty minutes watching this I was done. Why? Because I fast forwarded past all the soft-core porn in the movie and that boils down to about a twenty minute movie. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. Actually this was one of the funnier things that have come out of Seduction Cinema.

When sex toy tycoon Horny Fark is kidnapped by nameless terrorists she realizes that her only means of escape is to build a suit of impenetrable armor – from cardboard? It works because soon she escapes and she realizes what a waste of plastic dildos her life has been. It's time to sex up everyone she sees. Oh and apparently cardboard is bulletproof in this universe. Kooky, huh?

It isn't long before her partner betrays her to the terrorists and Horny Fark must don the new and improved guise of Iron Babe to destroy the terrorists and save sex for every free man and woman.

This actually is a great spoof in comparison to a lot of Seduction Cinema product. Director John Bacchus has been giving us superior soft core since the early days of Seduction Cinema with fare like PLAYMATE OF THE APES. The man knows his low-brow funny and brings his A-game to this particular production.

The disc is loaded with a ton of extras all starring Jackie Stevens who plays the titular character. While she is a little older looking than what we are used to from Seduction she has a nice, natural figure reminiscent of Misty Mundae.

This brings us to the BATBABE flick.

This time we get Darian Caine as a stripper-by-day and masked vigilante by night. Bacchum City is under control of the masturbating madman, The Jerker, when he steals all XXX material in Bacchum City. It's up to Batbabe to find The Jerker before the citizenry falls to their knees in despair.

BATBABE is the superior of the two films because Darian Caine brings her best performance to the role of the masked vigilante hell-bent on retrieving the porn for the good people of Bacchum City. She's completely comfortable in the outfit, has spectacular comedic timing and has a smoldering sensuality that has been her trademark in every film she has been in. Sure, she can be silly when she wants, but when the sex heats up this woman makes you forget you're watching some silly soft-core spoof of a film.

Darian Caine makes this picture. Hell, this movie was ten times better than the recent Christian Bale mess. And she delivers her lines better than Bale ever could.

This disc has a few less special features, but it's alright. We even get a commentary that is invaluable to people truly interested in how this slice of the filmmaking business really works.

These two movies are intertwined. You can tell they were shot back to back and they share a lot of the same sets. The warehouse where Seduction Cinema keeps all their product gets quite a workout through both films. It was probably cost-effective to shoot in Jersey where the offices are located and take advantage of not having to pay for any locations. Smart filmmaking. John Bacchus should just shoot every spoof that Seduction Cinema decides to make. He has a wicked sense of humor and stays true to the spirit of the film they are spoofing. Plus he knows how to shoot beautiful women doing naughty things to each other. I was surprised at the introduction of heterosexual sex in these films. Seduction Cinema is famous for ladies licking each others' thighs and moaning a lot. It's time to let the boys play and it's a welcome change to a formula that was becoming a little stale. This will also make the films more salable to cable networks like Cinemax that thrive on this sort of thing. A very wise move by Seduction Cinema.

John Bacchus has managed to meld spoofs of the Marvel and DC universe in such a way that has escaped the actual comic book companies for decades. Maybe he could teach them a thing or two. Of course, they might want a lot less naked in their stories. Their loss, really. I look forward to sequels of both of these flicks and hope that director Bacchus will bring us more of the same in the very near future.

John Bacchus is the comedy injection that Seduction Cinema needs to thrive as a business.
