Forced Entry (1974)
After Hours Cinema | Review by Louis Fowler

Forced EntryOh boy. Ah, jeez. Man. Where do I start with this one? How about a quick synopsis?

FORCED ENTRY is a 70s roughie porno where Harry Reems portrays a shell-shocked Vietnam vet who rapes every woman he comes across while working at a gas station. And as if the rape scenes, played with typical porno depth, weren’t boner-killing enough, they're interspersed with newsreel footage of Vietnam atrocities. OK, we good?

As far as 70s grindhouse sleaze goes, you might as well crown FORCED ENTRYthe king, because there ain’t no way you’re gonna top it. It’s a gritty pre-cursor to the likes of TAXI DRIVER, with, well, massive loads of rape. And it’s all that rape that gives this flick a real snuff film feeling that’s hard to wash off. It’s fucking disturbing. But the even bigger question is this: who would ever get off on this? Even if you’re turned on at the prospect of rape, the sex scenes are intercut with glimpses of napalmed Vietcong children writhing in pain. It’s so completely fucked up – it’s extreme porn for budding psychos.

With the exception of watching it as a cultural oddity, I really can’t recommend FORCED ENTRY to anyone. Ever. Even for us horror fans, who are inundated with constant images of death and gore and brutality, FORCED ENTRY crosses a line that, well, shouldn’t be crossed, bordering on a feeling that, like I said earlier, this might be one step away from snuff. It’s a dirty, unholy, unwashed feeling that darkens your soul and fucks with your head. Even now, a few days after watching it, I still don’t know exactly what to say. I don’t know if there is anything I want to say.

I think I need to go to church. Seriously.
