Giorgio
Capitani directs this Spaghetti Western
with an all-star (you might have heard of
them) cast: Van Heflin as Sam Cooper, a
gold prospector who hit the mother lode;
and, George Hilton as Manolo Sanchez, the
only guy Cooper could trust because he raised
Sanchez after his parents were killed.
Then K2 turns up as the Blonde
who "took care" of Sanchez after
Cooper (?). Mistrust breeds desperation.
Cooper recruits Gilbert Roland (as Mason,
an ex-friend) to be a bodyguard.
This is a wonderful guide
to greed, gold, and guns. A True Western
with classic Italian gunfights.
