Tomoko, The Saintly Girl
Orchids International, Inc. | Review by Dan Taylor

Advertised at the local video store as an action flick (the box featured a leggy Oriental babe poised to gun down a villain and a kung-fu move being perpetrated by another lass), this is actually sleazy Jap porn of the cheapest kind. I'll tell ya, when I get ripped off, I get ripped the fuck off!

The flick starts off with shots of Tomoko Imamura walking through a park, playing on a swing set, and telling us via subtitles that, "My name is Tomoko. I 'm 20 years old and I am a student. I lost my virginity at 15 to a boy who was older. We did it at his place. It hurt so much I didn't know if I was bleeding from my period or pain." This was the initial tip-off to this keen film watcher that the "action" elements of the pic were going to be minimal.

Pretty soon we're back at Tomoko's apartment and she's putting her flabby body through the motions as she bathes and masturbates for the camera. She says, "I'm a bit embarassed, but I'll show you where I take baths and masturbate all the time." Yeah, real fucking shy. At this point, the "movie" shifts into standard porn procedure as Tomoko participates in sex with a faceless male co-star. (Not to mean the guy has no face... I just mean we never get to see it.)

What makes this particular flick really sleazy and dirty is its totally stripped-down presentation and production values. There's no "plot" or even an attempt at one, this is simply a long porno loop: the bed squeaks loudly throughout the sex scenes; at one point a phone rings and a helicopter can be heard flying overhead; and most bizarre is the total lack of a soundtrack... even the cheesiest 70s shit would've been a welcome change from the impossible to understand dialogue offset by subtitles like "Oh yes, I love it from behind...deeper..." and a squeaky bed.

We've all gotten jipped before, but things like this just drive home the caveat emptor world of home video.
